Wish I had found it sooner August 3, 2010 J. MACLEAN (Centreville, VA.) I've been cooking with cast iron for 6 years now and love it, but cleanup was always a bit of a pain, though I had managed to find a way with strong spraying of hot water, paper towels and regular seasonings. But once I found this brush and started using it, it became much easier. I can now skip the messy step of picking the gunk off with a paper towel. It does a better job and it's faster, too. I now consider this almost a necessity, though I realize I can do without it as I did before. But I don't want to. The bristles are very strong--strong enough that with soaking a cast iron pan in hot water for just 5 minutes (not too long to avoid rust), you can even remove difficult sugar-based sauces that have stuck and dried on. Since I cook 50% with cast iron these days (maybe 90% of meat), I always keep this close at hand near the sink. It's my favorite cleaning tool now. I enthusiastically recommend this, and will now buy these for my friends and relatives who are also starting to cook with cast iron.
It cleans my frying pan July 27, 2010 Jeffrey Swain (Redding CA) This brush does what it claims, it cleans my cast iron cook ware and it sea to be lasting well. The long handle is nice and you can use the edge of the wood where the bristles are to scrape stubborn spots without scratching the cast iron.
best yet for cleaning my lodge cast iron July 26, 2010 psalmlady I've used other brushes, scrubbies and cloths (including my own hand-knit) and this has been the best tool yet to clean my Lodge cast iron. I was kind of surprised because it didn't really look all that sturdy, but it's held up real well for over a year now. I soak down my pan (12" skillet) with water and then scrub away with this brush. Sometimes I use salt for extra scrubbing power, but not very often. I like the long handle and how well the brush head fits into the groove where the side of the skillet meets the base. I care for my brush by washing the bristles with that well-known blue dishwashing liquid, rinsing VERY well until no traces of soap remain, and hanging it back up to dry. I would have given it five stars if the brush were just a tad more stiff. Overall, very pleased with this item.
Lodge Scrubber Brush July 15, 2010 Lonnie D. Kobus (Riverside, Ca USA) Purchased the scrubber brush along with a Lodge stove top grill. This brush cleans the grill easier than any product I have used.
Nice brush, cleans well, built well. July 13, 2010 K. McMillan (California) I picked up this scrubber brush to accompany a cast-iron skillet I gave as a gift and it is wonderful. Cleans well, it's built well and the price was great.
